REFURBISHMENT

Refurbishment projects are often difficult. Given that these projects typically involve capital expenditure, the Owner’s bottom line will be affected.

It is imperative that the Owner’s cash flows are managed prudently to ensure that works are completed to plan and on budget. With proper planning it is often possible to manage the Owner’s continuing cash requirement whilst ensuring that the refurbishment project continues.

Refurbishment projects involve the co-ordination of numerous tradesmen and consultants. These participants need to be actively and effectively managed.

Often with refurbishment projects building services are interrupted. Furthermore, building work is often noisy and creates mess. Sound liaison skills are required to keep existing tenants happy through what can be stressful times. Property Owners need to respect that the tenants’ have a legal right to quiet enjoyment.
